New Delhi, 04 Jan. 2014:
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind views with grave concern that
the riot victims of Muzaffarnagar are continuously being made to further
suffer. In this respect, the attitude of the government of Uttar Pradesh is
very unfortunate.
First, the government failed to stop the riot, and
then, up to now, many of the accused are still at large. After that many
affected families were paid each Rs. 5 lakh on the written commitment that they
would not return to their homes. In this way they would be permanently deprived
of their homes, residing places, mosques, institutions etc.
The latest atrocity is the administrations acts of
forcefully evicting the victims from temporary camps where they had taken
refuge to keep themselves alive in biting cold almost touching zero degree. This
is the most unkindest cut of all.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind demands that U.P. government
should stop this atrocity forthwith and take immediate steps to solve the problems
of the victims and rehabilitate them. The central government, National Human
Rights Commission and the Supreme Court also should intervene.
The
changing scenario of National politics
The formation of Aam Aadmi Party’s government in Delhi
Pradesh is an indication of the changing scenario of National Politics, which
is generally being welcomed in the country.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind considers these new trends as
notable and reassuring. The common people hit by corruption, inflation, lack of
basic amenities and facing the insensitivity of governments are craving for a
basic change.
The Government at the centre and those in the states must
take notice of popular trends and mould their policies in accordance with the
popular demands.
Indian people, especially the Muslims and other
marginalised sections are happy and hopeful with the emerging prospects. Aam
Admi Party has emerged as a new alternative. The feeling of the Muslim
community is getting stronger that they should reconsider their position
regarding Congress, which is neglecting them, and regarding other secular
parties, and search for other alternatives. As regards the communal and fascist
forces, they think them to be a big danger for the country and the community.
The Muslims also feel that if they are united they would be in a better
position to solve their problems and get their rights. There are debates in
Muslims circles about unity which may bring about a favourable change in the
country.
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind hopes that ever conscious common people
of India would strive to bring about the desired changes and the next
parliamentary elections would bring forward non-communal, people-friendly and
honest people.
Sexual Anarchy and Human
Degradation
Our
society is sinking fast into the lowest ebb of sexual anarchy. Efforts are
being made to seek legal sanction for sexual perversions like live-in
relationship and homosexuality. Some court judgements have also supported these
acts. The Apex Court, quite expectedly, restored Section 377 of India Penal Code
(IPC) and thereby re-criminalized homosexuality. But some vested interests
including some sections of our government machinery have moved, most brazenly,
the Apex Court to review its verdict. Concerned citizens and religious leaders
have strongly opposed the move of these vested interests to drag the society
into sexual anarchy.
Some
people have rightly said that by practising such inhuman acts, man has come
down to the level of animals and beasts. But we do assert that even animals and
beasts do not go for such unnatural acts. If such vested interests are allowed
to do what they like, throwing all social and ethical norms to the winds, cases
of rape, adultery, fornication,
incest, pedophilia, pre- and extra-marital sex, debauchery and hedonism will increase
and fatal venereal diseases and AIDS will engulf the society.
The
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind calls upon the civil society to oppose tooth and nail the
move to legalise homosexuality, live-in relationship and other perversions and
thus save the society from annihilation.
