Reservations in Education and
Employment are short of recommendations but decision in right direction.

We welcome the decisions of
Maharashtra government to provide reservation in Education and employment to
backward communities. Although its short of what was recommended by Rangnath
Misra Commission's 10% and Dr.Mahmoodur Rahman Committes's 8% to Muslims but
its in the right direction.
The reservation is well under the
fundamental right that is defined under article 15(4) and 16(4) of the
Constitution of India i.e. Right to Equality.
We urged the government to consider
reservations to Muslims in housing as recommended by the Dr.Mahmoodur Rahman
Committee.
Still a lot has to be done to
provide justice to the Muslim Community
